Product Description
Written at a practical level specifically for programmers and scientists who program, this introduction to computer vision contains a minimum usage of mathematics. After the introductory theory, the book's focus is on the various types of vision imaging problems (grey level images, recognizing objects, computer readable codes, scientific images, etc) and examples from real cases of programming solutions in the C language.

There are quite a few major flaws with this book. One is that it only shows examples with TIFF images. So if you do not already know how to open a BMP or a JPEG, assuming that you want to, then you need to look elsewhere.

There is no code distributed on a disk if you want to use it you have to either type it all in or pay an additional $.. for the disk.

The book tends to be a little vague. Sometimes too simple and others assume understanding of the whole image processing area. The examples of code are generally spread into sections at the end of each chapter (some procedures are missing), sadly with no comments.

Overall the book could do with an update, with the mistakes corrected and comented code.
