1.0 out of 5 stars Acrobat Pro? Acrobat NO!, 8 Aug 2000
By A Customer
We use Adobe Acrobat on a very regular basis here, due to adaptability across Mac and PC platforms. We recently decided to be slightly more adventurous with our Acrobat files, using them as interactive demonstations and utilizing all the aspects the package could deliver, from buttons to Web links. To this end we purchased this book hoping to find various hints, tips and pointers to what is a very powerful utlility. We were, therefore, very disappointed with the result. The book, although seemingly pitched at the professional end of the market is little more than a beginners manual, with no information on many of the more important aspects of Acrobat including (most startlingly) the use of buttons! I had used Acrobat to a fair degree before reading the book and found that I already knew the details it tried to teach! And I also knew a lot more besides! As for the CD-Rom that is included with the manual, it is nothing more than the book itself presented as a (badly designed and put together!) Acrobat file! To sum up, there is nothing here that you cannot learn from the Acrobat Help Guide within the package itself, or from the Adobe Forum website (which is where I returned to receive REAL help on Acrobat!) A bitter disappointment!

Well written and informative. Lots of "whys" , not just "hows".
