From the Author

A professional guide for everyone.
When I first came up with the idea to write Beer Basics the concept was to write a reference book for those in the food service industry, especially beverage managers. When this book was published there were hundreds of new beers hitting the market and only the brewers and their sales staff knew what made each one special. This book was meant to give the beverage manager a clue to what those folks were talking about when the said that a particular brew was a "full bodied farmhouse French ale with a hint of honey." Fortunately the editor assigned to this book saw the potential to make it a book for any one interested in good beer. Let me know what you think.
