5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent introduction to ObjectOriented Analysis and Design, 11 Nov 1998
By A Customer
This is an absolutely excellent book which introduces the reader to objects with the development of analysis and design in computing. It then deals in detail with object oriented analysis and design. The book covers all areas in detail with a clarity of writing that I have never experienced elsewhere. The attention to detail in the content and its presentation is exceptional. For the practitioner or student. If you have anything to do with objects buy this book!

1.0 out of 5 stars No use for a practioner, 27 Feb 2005
This is a remarkably empty book.

Most of it is about structured analysis rather than object oriented analysis. If you know SA, including entity relationship modelling, very little of this book will teach you anything.

Its coverage of object orientation amounts to little more than "SA with functionality bundled in with the entities". It almost entirely fails to convey the power of object orientation as an approach and fails to explain how object orientated analysis differs from structured analysis.
