5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent IPTV Primer, 21 Aug 2008
By John Horan - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
Excellent engineering book for telecom, IT, cable, broadcast, and video professionals looking to implement end-to-end IP and Internet TV systems.
From an IPTV systems engineers perspective, O'Driscoll has done a great job in providing readers with both technical and practical explanations of a variety of key IPTV technologies ranging from optimizing IGMP performance to deploying advanced Quality of Service and Experience infrastructures.
Details about what's involved in the day-to-day administration of both linear and on-demand video services will also be helpful to companies planning to deploy IPTV and Internet TV products. Overall the information is well structured throughout the book and I would highly recommend this book.
