About the Author
Philosopher and musician David Rothenberg is the author of several books including Why Birds Sing. He is the founding editor of the Terra Nova journal and book series, and his articles have been published widely. Rothenberg is also a composer and jazz clarinettist who has released six CDs. He lives in Cold Spring, New York.
