3.0 out of 5 stars Rambling but with an important message, 22 Jun 2002
The essential message in the book is that multi-skilled teams work much better than functional teams. Through lots of anecdotes and case studies, the author highlights the damaging effects of organising people into teams according to their function (marketing, design, manufacturing, etc.). The communication barriers and team conflicts conspire to cripple essential business processes. Teams focused on deliverables with all the necessary skills are much more flexible and motivated, which gives you the best quality results. The book is over long but well worth dipping into, with a useful summary at the end.

3.0 out of 5 stars TQM the airforce way, 18 Jul 2001
By A Customer
If you get through the first 150 pages of "I did that" and "Who said what about me" this is actually a good read. His approach to TQM is practical and easy to understand it is evident that Bill Creech have been in the air force and there is lots of good examples of the problems that was faced when trying to implement a TQM system.
