Product Description

Product Description

Beauty has learned her lessons well. There are no pleasures that she hasn't given, no delights she hasn't known - but there can be no freedom for her. It means she must deny her body the joy it expects, the excitement it so desperately craves. Now as our story nears its end, Beauty meets the Prince of her dreams - the one man whose touch can release the torrential passions locked within her. And, as with the best of fairy tales, they are destined to live ecstatically ever after. Beauty's Release: her climactic adventure. --This text refers to an alternate Paperback edition.

4.0 out of 5 stars Grand finale, 10 Oct 2000

This is the third, and in my opinion the best, in A.N. Roquelaure's 'Sleeping Beauty' trilogy. It's erotic fiction with a BDSM slant, by the way :-)

For those of you familiar with the preceeding books, this one focuses slightly more on the male characters than the previous books. It takes the story forward, revealing the eventual fates of the principals in the trilogy.

I don't want to spoil anything for you, so I'll not go into depth on what occurs. The conclusion is slightly 'telegraphed', but what the heck, happy endings are always nice to see these days.

If you liked the earlier books in the trilogy you'll find this equally...ahem... 'stimulating' ;-) Pleasant fantastical bedtime reading for the slightly kinky.

1.0 out of 5 stars unexplored plot and thin characterisation, 16 Aug 2001

This review is from: Beauty's Release (Paperback)
Ok- so why did I perservere with all three of these books? Maybe because I hoped that Anne Rice's undoubtable talent would start to shine through. Unfortunately this was not to be. One thing puzzled me though; why was Beauty not allowed her own voice when all the other slaves were? Just a small point - but it was an irritating device - especially when you consider that actually none of the characters were really given enough depth to let them have something of any real interest to say. There was potential in the character of Laurent, but that didn't become apparent until the very end of the novel and it's unsatisfactory ending.
