4.0 out of 5 stars Another great book in the series, 14 Feb 2008
Combine Space Opera, Whodunnit and The Quest novel, set it in-and-around a lunar settlement and you get the Retrieval Artist series. Rusch writes a mature story without the gimmicky banter that seems so prevalent in science fiction "thrillers". Okay, so there is little levity and each book in the series introduces new characters, or focuses on different ones, leaving others behind, so you have to have read the preceding books to keep up. But thats not a bad thing when the series is as good as this one.

4.0 out of 5 stars Fab!, 25 Sep 2007
This book picks up just a couple of weeks from the previous one in the Retrieval Artist series, Paloma.
I love the series so far but this is the first one that actually feels like part of a series rather than a discrete novel on its own. It reads very much like the middle novel of a trilogy - you would be lost without knowing a bit about the back history and the ending left many more loose ends than in previous novels in the series - it was a bit abrupt and rushed.
Despite this, the action is fast paced and the characters interesting. As I said, I love the series and this book has made me want to the next installment to come that bit quicker!
