4.0 out of 5 stars An unexpected treat..., 22 Sep 2002
Having read a number of other Piercy books, I read this one to indulge my completist tendencies!
The characterisation is vivid; whilst it is a little more dated that "Woman on the Edge" (although written later), The people in the story are all well-drawn, fully realised and three dimensional- and the story goes down unexpected avenues, never losing the ability to surprise.
In essence, this is a story about a short period of transition in the lives of three people; but Piercy's writing style give it such depth you'll be picking the book up at every spare moment to see that happens next!
Recommended, but read "Woman on the Edge" first!!!
