5.0 out of 5 stars A very Good Regency Romance by modern standards, 4 Nov 2006
I have all books in the series and I really enjoyed 'The Duke' and 'Lord of Fire', for me it was addictive reading and the stories have fine detail and suspension - I really cared about the charachters. Foleys writing has improved since 'The Pirate Prince' series. I would not go so far as to compare Foley's writing to that of the Queen of Regency; Georgette Heyer, but in my opinion: a hard task for any writer to live up to. I recommend 'The Duke' and the other books in the series to any reader who enjoys curling up reading Regency Romance and not wanting to put down your book until it's finished. I rate this series on par with those written by Brenda Joyce or Stephanie Laurens.

5.0 out of 5 stars Captivating Story & Sizzling Hot Love!, 4 Feb 2001
By A Customer
Belina Hamilton, a gentle-bred young lady turned courtesan agrees to be the mistress of the "Paragon" Duke of Hawkscliffe, in order to seek rvenge on a common enemy. Scandalised socitey by their relationship, Belinda and Robert's LOVE has blossomed to a "Lenendary" scale. Haunted by thier own tragic past and restricted by thier current circumstances, their love is unlike to come to a happy ending. Can love conquer all? Ms Floey has dazzled the readers in this masterfully written and incredibly sexy book, this is a MUST read for all romance lovers. I am looking forward for the next book in "The Knight Miscellany" series in Spring 2002 - A Long wait indeed!

5.0 out of 5 stars Awsome!!, 25 Feb 2004

Something like this only comes in once in once life..a story like this is ..its beautiful..sexy..and simply heartwarming..I love Bel's personality..And Robert is where the word Hero was from!...He's too good to be true! Its warmth my heart to see Roberts warming up to Bel even though he thinks that she is a wanton..butshe realy is acting it...and chapter after chapter you see how he is step by step feeling protective towards her..and then they both feel this attraction...when Bel spills the beans about her past..(thats my fav part by the way)..its just sets your heart on fire and you start to reach for the characters..i almost came to tears a few time through the book..when roberts say "You are my lady and i fight for your honor" or something like that...anyway it got to me....Buy this or regret it for the rest of your life..
