Product Description
Synopsis
Alec Dempsey, an undercover ATF agent, returns to his hometown as part of an assignment to recover stolen money from a truck heist. Part of his duties include protecting Keira Morgan, a woman he jilted nearly ten years ago and whom he is certain never wants to see him again. From the instant they met, Keira couldn't see a future with any other man, and when Alec proposed at their senior prom, she agreed to elope with him the next day. But when Alec left town without her and shortly thereafter married someone else, a devastated Keira vowed never to let anyone else close to her heart again. But now a notorious bank robber is seeking revenge for his arrest and is making Keira his target. Will she let Alec close enough to protect her, or will the pain of the past place them both in harm's way?

4.0 out of 5 stars Slow to get going but worth the wait, 12 Jan 2003

I bought this book at random from a 'you bought this you might like' suggestion by Amazon. I read this in one day. The story of Alec showing up after 10 years to protect his first love, Keira, sounded a little contrived on the cover. But in fact it flows very well and the sparks between the two characters fly. The plot is fast paced and the sex scenes are better than many I have read, inventive and fairly frequent in the latter half of the book.
Of course it has a happy ending but then what story of this genre doesnt?
I will defiantely look for more work by this author

5.0 out of 5 stars Great book, 18 Jan 2003

This is Lauren Bachs second novel, following the excellent Lone Rider.
The story of Alec returning to his childhood town and his childhood sweetheart is slightly predictable but riveting nevertheless.
Good characters, hot sex scenes (only in the second half of the book but once they start the never stop!) and a good pace make this book a keeper.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good enjoyable read, 11 Jun 2008

I had not heard of Lauren Bach before, but after reading this book, it will not be the last. The story flows well and the characters are all
likeable. You can even get to understand why Alex left keira all those
years ago, although it left heartbreak it was all the sweeter when they
finally came back together. The storyline was good and all in all a
very enjoyable read.
