i bought this book when i was 14 years old, some time ago. I read the whole thing while sitting in the back of my parents car while waiting for them to return from a shopping trip. I loved this book and the film too. The idea of a group of kids finding a treasure map and hidden caves full of booby traps was wonderful. Nearly as good as checking the back of my wardrobe for furcoats and snow or trying to twist the brass knob of my nans bedsted. I still love this story and cant wait for the final dvd release but until then i make do with the video. The only problem is that the film has scenes cut which appear in the book, that always annoyed me when i was younger. Id wait for certain things to happen and they never did! I recommend this book to any 80's film fan who loved the film and people who arte too young to remember it new. Its great!
