Product Description

Product Description

A Massage Therapist's Guide to Lower Back and Pelvic Pain describes in detail the background to the evolution of "non-specific" backache as well as the assessment and treatment methods ideal for use in combination with massage therapy, deriving from physical therapy, osteopathic, and chiropractic sources. The book describes these methods individually and then integrates them into a detailed description of a massage session focusing on the person with backache. This unique book takes care to consider the needs of the massage therapist, who previously may have had to adapt his/her own methodology from descriptions aimed at other health care professionals.

A DVD demonstrating the palpation and treatment methods supplements the text.

3.0 out of 5 stars Most frustrating book of the year, 15 Feb 2009
By K. E. Summers (London) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This book had me crying with frustration. Having said that it is stuffed with valuable information if you have the patience to piece it together into a coherent digestible form. It's content is a chaotic mess whose information is as elusive when you've finished reading it as trying to remember a dream. I would like to go through it and re-write everything in a logical format. Good luck, the info is all there but be prepared to work. Hard.
