Review

"The rapidly growing popularity of complementary therapies has created a vital need for the book you have in your hands. This volume will become a classic, for it breaks new ground in treatment, integrating basic research with clinical practice, and the reporting of new observations. Margaret McCarthy has thoroughly succeeded in her goal of writing for anyone, patient, physician, complementary therapist, or medical researcher. Case studies are fascinating documentaries of real people facing difficult health problems, struggling to find relief. McCarthy describes her cases with a clear and engaging style, referencing and integrating relevant data from published science. Anatomic terms are thoroughly described and a glossary makes it an easy read for anyone. Her clinical discoveries can help all of us understand ourselves." "ames L. Oschman is the author of Energy Medicine the scientific basis also published by Elsevier Science."

book will become a classic textbook in the twenty first century... Written in a way it can be understood by the physician, complementary therapist and researcher alike...A modern day book for modern therapists"Massage World, December 2002

Product Description

In this twenty-first century our external environment contains innumerable hazards to our health and wellbeing. These impose new and ever greater challenges to our immune systems. As our immune systems become over-loaded and the number and variety of medical problems from which we suffer increases. Often conventional medicine is ill-equipped to deal with these problems. In consequence dealing with chronic illness is becoming a growing burden for society and healthcare providers.

In Lymphatic Therapy for Toxic Decongestion Margaret McCarthy describes the relationship between degenerative disease and physiological malfunction within the body. She then goes on to demonstrate how an integrated therapy, which draws on a variety of approaches, may be used to assess the body as a whole and to promote restoration of health simply, effectively and economically, without the use of expensive drugs or equipment.

5.0 out of 5 stars A book for anyone wishing to get well and stay well, 1 Mar 2004
By A Customer
This book is a revelation. I am left wondering why the lymphatic system has not been researched. McCarthy succintly outlines why the lymphatic system - our own internal sewerage system - is so important to us and how it holds the key to preventing degenerative disease. Not only does she explain how and why toxic substances cause untold damage within us but she shows how to TEST OURSELVES to understand what substances are indeed toxic to the body and will not be tolerated.

The book contains informative case studies which show how one can become literally, 'detoxified' which leads to recovery and well-being again. All this can be achieved by using the self-help techniques that are simply outlined. It has been an illuminating read and one which I would recommend for anyone (i.e. not just therapists as a matter of course)but those who wish to take responsibility for their own health. Every girl/woman should read this book to ensure they keep the lymphatics to their breast area clear for instance to allow the system to function effectively. This book contains a wealth of information -and I have had great results from incorporating its guidance.
