4.0 out of 5 stars A key text for budding play therapists, 12 Dec 2000
By A Customer
This book is based on the authors' cumulative wisdom and experience of work in child and adolescent psychiatry. It's strength lies in accounts of play therapy in practice and the clear and concise way this is related to theoretical constructs. It at once demystifies and illuminates the complex process of play therapy intervention and is therefor a recommended text for anyone wishing to embark on a career in play therapy. However, it does not make sufficient reference to the formal training and supervision required to undertake such a professional role and its clear and straight forward presentation should not tempt unqualified therapists (occupational or any other) to attempt to engage in what is a complex and challenging field of work.
