Product Description

Product Description

This 38th edition continues the tradition of innovation and of extending understanding of the human anatomy. The systematic layout has been retained, giving the reader a complete overview of the workings of the human body. The organistion of the book has been revised to reflect recent developments. The rapid increase in our understanding of immunology has prompted theh creation of an entirely section on Haemal and Lymphoid systems. The embryology and nervous systems sections have been revised to take account of the rapidly changing nature of these subjects. Osteology and arthrology have been united under the Musculoskeletal system and the outmoded splanchnology section has been replaced by a more meaningful cardiovascular, respiratory, alimentary, urinary, reproductive and endocrine. The surface anatomy section has been reinstated.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Leading Anatomy Text, 12 Jan 2006
By A Customer
Gray's Anatomy has long been considered the authoritative book of anatomy for doctors and generations of medical students have studied it. This new edition is a revelation; beautifully illustrated, easy to navigate, highly relevant to clinical practice and readable. This edition is so much better than the old one I used as a student in the early 1970s. As a GP I find it a useful reference book and excellent for showing patients to help their understanding.

4.0 out of 5 stars An excellent, comprehensive text, 19 Jan 2000
By A Customer
This book is expressed very clearly, it is comprehensive yet concise, it covers everything an undergraduate student would need for his/her anatomy studies. An excellent book, but a bit too expensive.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best anatomy book available!, 21 Jan 2008
By Dick Turpin (Liverpool, U.K.) - See all my reviews
This book is an extremely good text for all those that require a thorough grasp of anatomy. The level of detail exceeds that needed by medical students or anatomy students, but is an ideal reference text and is very nicely put together. The organisation by body region is superior to the previous format of Gray's, at least in my opinion. The illustrations are very good and there are radiological images and some clinical correlation. There is even some microscopic anatomy!

If you never want to have to buy another anatomy book, then get this one.
