Amazon.co.uk Review

Buried Alive! (for 9-11 year olds) is the highly entertaining sequel to Cliffhanger by Jacqueline Wilson, the award-winning author of The Story of Tracy Beaker, Double Act and Bad Girls. Only child young Tim is delighted when his kind but rather old-fashioned and conventional parents allow Biscuits, the fun friend he met on an Adventure Holiday, to come on vacation with him. They have the most wonderful times until two horrible big bullies, Prickle-Head and Pinch- Face decide to make their life a misery. Everything starts getting better and worse, when the bouncy, extrovert, tough Kelly, who insists on calling herself Tim's girlfriend, unexpectedly turns up in a caravan with her fun- loving mum, her younger siblings and her mum's tattooed boyfriend. This exciting, funny story has its serious side too when jealousies develop between the friends and when the bullies suddenly become a real threat. Each chapter begins with a hand-written page from Tim and Biscuits' diaries with humorous cartoon drawings by Nick Sharratt. - -Tamsin Palmer --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

Product Description

5.0 out of 5 stars A book all children can't put down, 31 May 2001
By A Customer
I loved reading it over and over it totally brill thumbs up for Jacqueline Wilson. I first read the book when my teacher ordered two copies for our class libary.Nearly everyone in the class has read it.

Its about Tim and Biscuits who U might remeber from Cliffhanger. But this time they are going to holiday in Wales and meet DFE otherwise known as prickle head and also DFE's mate they call pinch face. They encounter Kelly Tims girlfriend when ddoewn at the amusement arcade. They their deadliest adventure yet.

PS even more deadly than the adventure camp

4.0 out of 5 stars Good fun for 7+, especially boys, 11 Feb 2001
By A Customer
This is the sequel to Cliffhanger, which my Year 3 son read as a school reading assignment. He enjoyed that one so much that I got this cassette and the book for his entertainment. He enjoys looking at the book while listening to the tape, and as this one is unabridged, it's perfect. I think boys who are not particularly athletic, or who enjoy activities which are not seen as very masculine will find reassurance in this story. Tim's dad is on him alot about not doing very sporty things, and scoffs at his teddy bear and when he shows interest in going to the shops. Tim worries about how his parents might embarrass him in front of his friend (his mum continues to ask him whether he needs a wee!), and about whether his friend, whom he hasn't seen for a while will still like him. Listening to this cassette was a good, entertaining alternative to watching a video. It is over 3 hours long, though, so it probably wont be listened to in one go!
