This review is from: The Old Silent (Paperback)
This is a poor and uninteresting crime novel. The motive for the crime is unconvincing. The solution relies on a massive coincidence which is never acknowledged. The settings in Yorkshire, Devon and London appear to have been written by someone who has never been to these places. The characters are tediously two-dimensional (you start to wish there were a few more murders). The only good thing about this book is that it is easy to read, so, in spite of its unnecessary length, you can get through it quickly and move onto something better.
