The Deadly Hunter is so cool. When I heard that Aurra Sing was rumored to be a character in Episode 2, I thought the bounty hunter was her. The whip lightsabre is so cool and I like Didi and his daughter Astri. I wish I knew what happened to Qui-Gon though. Well I guess I'll find out soon.

THE STORY:
Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan step in to help Qui-Gon's friend Didi Oddo who is being terrorised by a mysterious bounty hunter.

WHAT'S GOOD:
The introduction of the bounty hunter Ona Nobis and her lightwhip injects a bit of excitement back into the flagging series. The Jedi's pursuit of the wily and deadly hunter through the underworld of Coruscant makes for good reading too, as does Qui-Gon's relationship with Didi, which further explains Obi-Wan's comment about 'pathetic lifeforms' in 'The Phantom Menace'.

WHAT'S BAD:
Although this story is more exciting and interesting that other books in the series, it still lacks something difficult to quantify that would give it that dynamic Star Wars feel.

I'd put this up with no.7 as my favourite. Our two heroes get seriously pasted for a change. Because it's a two parter it's got leisure to explore a bit of emotional depth, which 9, for example, didn't have. I can't wait to get the next one to find out what happened to Qui-Gon. Really excellent stuff!

This was good, like all of the Jedi Apprentice series, but not as good as number seven or number nine, which I think were the best ones. You should still by it though.
