while not my favourite jedi apprentice book, it is still an excellent read. i couldn't put it down. there's a brilliant bit of lightsaber swishing. but it wasn't the ending i'd hoped for.

THE STORY:
War is brewing between Rutan and Senali and, when a member of Rutan's royal family goes missing, Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan must intervene to prevent a conflict.

WHAT'S GOOD:
Nothing stands out as being especially good with this one.

WHAT'S BAD:
The story here is one of the two main types of Jedi Apprentice story, dealing with 'the Jedi must avert a civil war' rather than 'the Jedi must overthrow an oppressive government', and therefore is unoriginal and unremarkable. Whilst I can't honestly say that this book is actually awful, it's impossible to think of a good reason why it was actually written at all.

The Shattered Pecae was very confusing and didn't make sense at all. The book was good, but the plot didn't seem to all fit together. I think Jude could have tried harder.
