Product Description

John Millen, Sunday Young Post, February 23, 2003
...could well become the 'Alice in Wonderland' for the 21st century! [...] brimming with odd-ball ideas.

Product Description
Jack was at first a bit troubled when his father discovered a black hole to an alternate universe at the bottom of their garden. But since his relocation (together with his sister, mad aunt, punk grandmother and genius father) to another planet, he's become quite happy. Until now!

5.0 out of 5 stars Enchanting, 24 April 2002
By A Customer
A most enjoyable novel, with all the ingredients to make it a really good read! I couldn't wait to get to the next page, but at the same time was somewhat disappointed when I finally reached the end. The author has cleverly left enough unsaid though, that further adventures are forseeable. Although targeted for the early teen market (of which I am well past), I think this novel could find universal appeal. The characters, both human and alien, are well developed and oddly real. I think this is partly due to the underlying themes of good vs evil, the breakdown of the traditional family unit and the continual pressure upon society to chase the almighty dollar regardless of the cost. These are issues with which we can all identfy. I would recommend this book to readers of nearly all ages, for after all, there should still be some of the child left in all of us.

5.0 out of 5 stars VERY IMAGINATIVE !!!, 6 Aug 2002
By A Customer
An extremely imaginative and original work! The dialogue between Jack and his older, cooler and somewhat aloof sister was great and often left me laughing out loud - a very typical sibling relationship even if they were in another universe. From the underlying premise - of finding a Black Hole in your back yard - to Jack's too-smart talking dog, the book is filled with quirky developments that hold your interest from beginning to end. A good read for all ages!
