With fantastic fact files, crazy cartoons and curious quizzes. 144 pages, split over 12 chapters:- Introduction The ultimate power Laying down the laws Horrible heat The dead freezing chapter Killer cold Horribly powerful fuel The power to move you Hot, sweaty body bits Killer heat Fearsome fiery furnaces A power for good? written in a variety of fonts in the usual Nick Arnold entertaining style. Black and white illustrations throughout, as well as `Bet you never knew' fact-boxes, e.g.:- `At the World Sauna Championships, in Finland, people sit in a hot sauna room at temperatures up to 43 degree C (110 F) - this is as hot as some deserts! The aim is to sweat dirt from the skin but everyone wears swimming costumes because the organisers say it would be rude if they didn't!' Science has never been so horrible!' Like all Arnold's books they're very fun to read. This is because he mixed humour into it. This helps you to remember. I love these books and I still collect them!
