5.0 out of 5 stars A good read, 10 April 2004
It was the cover that caught my eye, an unusual picture of Shakepeare holding a scull. Could be interesting? At home a brief turn of the pages ended with me reading and enjoying the book. It is obviously well researched, written and illustrated with a sense of humour.
As well as Wills life story we get the maps of old Stratford and old London and plot outlines of several plays.
A rewarding read for adults an children alike.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another fabulous "Dead Famous", 30 Mar 2004
Following on from the other various titles of the "Dead Famous" series this is certainly a sure winner.Light, amusing writing style and fabulous illustrations cleverly hides the fact that this book is packed with lots of new information that even the most reluctant reader will enjoy.Entertaining and helpful.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another fantastic "Dead Famous" title., 21 Mar 2004
Ask your average 9 - 15 year old to read a book describing the life and times of William Shakespeare and you would be greeted by blank stares! However both of my children (11 and 14) couldn't put this book down. Andrew has once again captured the fun and light style that even the most reluctant reader will enjoy. Both of my children loved the Roald Dahl book in this same series and this is just as enjoyable.A good choice packed with lots of new facts.
