Product Description

Product Description
The darkly thrilling new novel from master storyteller Chris Wooding. Orokos is a city of chaos, lashed by probability storms that re-order the world wherever they strike. It covers every inch of the rocky island that it dominates. It has stood for so long that history has forgotten it, and its inhabitants no longer question what exists beyond its walls. Then three of its denizens discover the key to the secret at the heart of Orokos. But there are others, such as the Chief of the Protectorate Secret Police who would do anything to get their hands on that power ...anything at all...

5.0 out of 5 stars Don't judge by other Wooding books, 12 Jun 2006
By V. Brown - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This novel has a lot to live up to, considering it's award winning predecessors, but I was not disappointed. If you compare it to Poison or The Braided Path trilogy you do find it lacks some depth, though after writing the Braided Path trilogy Chris Wooding most definitely deserved a less taxing project!
However, it is an excellent read, with the usual twists and unique ideas that characterize Wooding's novels. Storm Thief is imaginitive and a great adventure story. I just wish it could have been longer.

5.0 out of 5 stars Were we reading the same book?, 22 May 2006
I don't know what book the reviewer below was reading, but in my opinion Storm Thief is Chris Wooding's best book yet. Wooding is brave enough to try something new with every book he writes, unlike some authors who churn out the same story over and over again. I guess sometimes people don't like that. Storm Thief is exciting and deep and really makes you think, like all of Wooding's books. Everyone should give him a try!

4.0 out of 5 stars Wilde? Please! Wooding an imaginative genius, 28 May 2006
By Huni (England) - See all my reviews
This is another fantastic book by Wooding, although i must say that it does not narratively compare to some of his other books, it is still a work of genius. he is imaginative and the story line is most definately thought provoking and essentially possible. The storyline was extremely deep in places and though many authors sturggle to keep more than one storlyine afloat Wooding easily manages this and sustains the charactisations throughout producing a consistantly good book which i must recommend.
