(TOP 500 REVIEWER)
Darkside is a terrific book, one that may be a little scary for 10 year olds to read alone, but would work well as readalong with a parent. It's full of the stuff that nightmares are made of. Ricky's dad is in an asylum and Ricky is left home alone, with just a neighbour to check in on him. One day, when Ricky is alone at home intruders break in and Ricky has to lock himself in his dad's study. There he discovers clues to his dad's insanity and realises they are both in danger. He has to find somewhere to hide and accidentally discovers The Darkside of London, a place where Jack the Ripper's children are the rulers and vampires roam the streets. If Ricky thought he had problems at home they pale into insignificance compared to what he has to face now! He meets all manner of terrifying characters and is soon fighting for his life.
This book is action packed and a true nail-biter. Brilliantly scary fun!

(REAL NAME)
This is a fantastic story for both girls and boys. Although the main character is a teenage boy you can immediately associate with him. I am an English teacher and stumbled across this book and couldn't put it down from the first page. The whole underground world of London is brilliantly written. It's a real page turner.
I was so excited I managed to get my HOD to buy 30 copies and now I cant wait to teach it to my classes.
Enjoy the journey to Darkside.

i liked this book. i liked the setting and most of all i liked the vampire. i can't wait for the next one. it wasn't scary, but i thought it was good all the same. the idea of a own of evil rogues was great.
