5.0 out of 5 stars The fragrant wookiee says:, 15 May 2002
By A Customer
The Jedi Apprentice series got a little stale towards the end, so how can Jedi Quest be any different? Well, in lots of ways! First off, this book is as all-action as a Star Wars movie, with eight Jedi and Battle Droids a-plenty. Second, the relationship between Obi-Wan and Anakin is a lot more interesting than the Obi-Wan/Qui-Gon one. Obi-Wan's uncertainty about Anakin and his reserved nature conflict and contrast perfectly with Anakin's open and somewhat brash nature. In this book we get to see Anakin making friends among the Jedi and also a rival, Ferus Olin. But the rivalrly is very different to the Obi-Wan/Bruck one from the JA books. Also, we see how Obi-Wan reflects on the Master/Padawan relationships of other Jedi. All in all, an exciting little story for kids and adults alike.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Force Was Strong In This One, 8 Aug 2002
I got the book, opened it and read the prolog, first thing that came to mind, "I hope the lightsaber has a vroom sound" well, I doesn't, but it's an excellent book all the same, I didn't think I was much of a star wars fan really, untill I saw the second movie, then I looked for Star Wars book, I seen amazon here had loads, so I looked for the newest and I came across this one and the other 2 that follow. I have got to say the book goes through stages, through the thoughts and ways of Obi Wan, and then for Anikin, this book does justice on showing how Anikin is progressing with his trianing and finding what he needs to become a Jedi, although he often feels he'll never make it (as heard in Ep. 2) he does suprisingly well, but on top of that he has to learn to work with 3 other padawans who were on the mission with him. The padawans and masters are parted and it shows how strong the force is within anikin as well as being a strong cometitor can handle working with the person(s) he may be competiting against.

4.0 out of 5 stars Another exciting adventure., 27 Sep 2004

*First off, I'd like to appologise for the review I wrote previously; for some reason I wrote a review for book 1 and instead it's here under book 2*

THE STORY:
Obi-Wan takes Anakin to Ragoon 6 for a tracking exercise, but they soon find themselves the target of a group of ruthless bounty hunters (and two incompetent ones!).

WHAT'S GOOD:
The writing in this book is far better than Watson's work on the Jedi Apprentice series and she has managed to come up with an exciting new story involving everyone's favourite type of scum; bounty hunters. This book also introduces the character of Granta Omega, a man attempting to gain the favour of the hidden Sith Lords, who will return to plague Obi-Wan and Anakin.

WHAT'S BAD:
I found the characters of Floria and Dane really annoying in a Jar Jar Binks sort of way (although obviously not that bad! Nothing could be!). Also, as people who've read my other reviews will know, I can't stand the arrogant little idiot Anakin Skywalker and the idea that Obi-Wan doesn't see his flaws is a bit far fetched.
