Product Description

Product Description

The towering iceberg drifting in the North Atlantic was a floating tomb. Embedded in the great gleaming mass was a ship - sealed in so solidly that not even its mast protruded. Here was a sea mystery to rank alongside the Bermuda Triangle and the Marie Celeste. But for Major Dirk Pitt, top troubleshooter for the National Underwater and Marine Agency, it was also the first link in a fantastic chain of events that would lead him too close - and too often - to violent death. And to the discovery of the most sinister and bizarre conspiracy of the century ...ICEBERG. --This text refers to the Paperback edition.

About the Author

A bestselling author who has had an adventurous life - sought lost gold mines in the American southwest, dived in isolated lakes of the Rocky Mountains for lost aircraft and dived for shipwrecks of historical significance. --This text refers to the Paperback edition.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great action book, 23 July 2003
By Thomas Russell (Herts, England) - See all my reviews
To enjoy this novel you have to roll with the corney plot! Clive Cussler has produced a novel enjoyable to anyone who can open their mind to the remarkable situations brave Dirk Pitt finds himself in. It'll make you laugh out loud. So predictable, it's funny, with some clever twists.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of his best!, 4 Feb 2001

This is a typical Cussler Pitt Book, full of plot twists and exciting adventures, both under and above the water.

I read this book 15 years ago, and have to buy each new one, when it comes out, because Dirk Pitt is my main man! AND he always pulls in a nice car...

2.0 out of 5 stars Lacking real depth
This early Cussler novel is certainly light on real story. The plot is driven by volumes of narrative which describes the plot and it used as a vehicle to progress it. Read more

1.0 out of 5 stars A truely awful and out of date book
You can really tell that this book was written in the 1970's. It is homophobic and sexist and has little relevance to the world as it is now. Read more

1.0 out of 5 stars 2 dimensional characters with hackneyed plot
Clive Cussler takes a James Bond style plot and makes it even more unbelievable. The book is full of two dimensional characters and cheesy plotlines. Read more
