4.0 out of 5 stars more than meets the eye, 26 April 2002
By A Customer
At first glance I was a little bit disappointed with this book: all the photos are in the centre of the book (rather than with each pattern) and the garments aren't pictured on people. But once I started to read ... what an inspirational book. Fascinating details about the knitters who joined Lily Chin in the design and production process and a really intriguing range of styles and techniques to try out. Within three weeks of receiving the book I'd made two baby blankets based on the log cabin instructions. Now I just have to decide whether I'm brave enough to try the evening bra!

5.0 out of 5 stars Cool Knitts for Cool knitters, 23 Feb 2002
By A Customer
Gone are the days when knitting was only for granny. Lily Chin has written a book for a new generation of knitter. Cool patterns for the beginner to the more experienced knitter she clearly illustrates techniques and provides all of the information you need to be a successfull knitter.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not what I really wanted, 10 Dec 2003
By Ms M Mawer (Norwich, United Kingdom) - See all my reviews
I find this rather too specific - I was hoping for more in the way of ideas about how to create or adjust patterns. What the book contains is a number (20-ish, from memory) of specific knitting projects. I will probably try a couple of them sometime, but meanwhile my quest for a good 'design your own' manual continues.
