5.0 out of 5 stars An Outstanding Novel, 10 Feb 2001
By A Customer
In her second enthralling novel, Monica Ferris spins a tale about a murder in the past. A boat sunken in the year 1949 is raised from a lake in Excelsior, Minnesota. A skeleton of a woman is found on board. Soon the idea of murder is brought up. Sadly the police are stumped. There are no clues from the deep, except for a fragment of lace. The case sounds perfect for Betsey Devonshire, an amature sleuth. There are very few clues. Betsey is perplexed! She questions people in hopes of a small amount of useful information. But soon someone else is killed, and Betsey realizes that she needs to hurry to solve this case before others wind up dead. Then the worst possibble thing happens. A kind elderly woman is accused of the crime. Betsey doesn't belive that the woman is guilty. Betsey knows this case won't be easy to crack!!!!! Now, from what you can see, this is an intriguing book with an excellent plot. I found the ending to be surprising. I enjoyed this book thoroughly, and hope you do too!

5.0 out of 5 stars Framed in Lace, 15 May 2009
By Mrs. C. Naden ""Who-done-it Beader"" (England) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
Another great mystery from the pen of Monica Ferris.(2nd in a series)
This is one of the many craft-related murder mysteries from Berkley Paperbacks.
A real who-done-it, with a needlework shop as the main setting and beleivable characters.
A must for all mystery readers who also do needlecrafts.
I'm now reading the 3rd in the series, watch this space!

5.0 out of 5 stars betsy devonshire keeps on going!!, 29 Mar 2008
Having read the first book in this series 'crewel world' and wanting to read more about betsy devonshire, who was just visiting her sister. In this 2nd book, betsey is still deciding whether to keep the needlecraft shop 'crewel world'. Betsy is getting to know even more people and her love of needlework just keeps on growing, but all too soon betsy is called to the rescue to help solve another murder and help out one of her new friends who attend the monday bunch group. Surprises all along the way, keep you from wanting to put this book down I am now moving on to the third book in this great series and i can guarantee you won't want to put it down either and there's the added possibility, you'll start cross-stitching just like i've done!!
