Product Description

Review

`Walter has an accessible and engaging style which draws the reader effortlessly into his discussion of the complexities surrounding the ways in which our society does - and does not - deal with death, dying and bereavement. ... After reading Walter's critique of some of the accepted wisdom which inform current practice, practitioners may be forced to reconsider the validity of their assumptions.' - David Field, Senior Lecturer in Medical Sociology, the University of Leicester

Product Description

The current revival of interest in death seeks ultimate authority in the individual self. This is the first book to comprehensively examine this revival and relate it to theories of modernity and postmodernity.

5.0 out of 5 stars Revival of Death will ask searching questions to those of you who are tending the dying, 22 Feb 2007
By Ms. S. R. Morris (UK) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)

This book is totally unique in challenging and asking the searching questions on how do we care for our dying in a post modern society.

I would recomend it to anyone working within the palliative care profession or funeral trade.

Even though written many years ago, it is as relevant now as it was then. Maybe more relevant now as it was so ahead of its time.

Read it & enjoy !
