Product Description
Synopsis
This is an account of an extraordinary year in the life of one of the most successful clubs in British football. Arsenal have had an amazing season: they remain unbeaten in the League, reached the semi-finals of the FA Cup and narrowly lost to Chelsea in a memorable Champions' League quarter-final. Told chronologically, with vivid descriptions of their important fixtures and encounters, both domestic and in Europe, this is the story of the club's year, in the words of one of its biggest fans, the journalist, broadcaster and newspaper editor, Piers Morgan. Va Va Voom! includes in-depth interviews with many of those who have been central to the club's success this season: manager Arsene Wenger, star striker Thiery Henry, Chairman David Dein, and captain Patrick Vieira amongst others.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent account of an historic season, 4 Oct 2004
I was able to view this book as a semi-neutral (I am a Manchester City fan but my son sensibly decided that he wanted to follow Arsenal when he was 5) and it is an extremely enjoyable and engaging read.

Piers Morgan has written in the deliberately provactive style of a genuine fan and it is refreshing to see the love for a club that someone is able to maintain despite having extreme pressures taking their toll away from football.

This is a book that I would highly recommend to all Arsenal fans and any other fans of the attacking, innovative football that Arsene Wenger's team produce. If you are a fan of Manchester United then I would be slightly more guarded with my recommendation.

5.0 out of 5 stars great manager in the making, 9 Mar 2005

if mr morgan wants a new job after being an editor he should become a football manager. he knows more about the game than managers who are already managing. now that he has cleaned up his act and no longer hits the bottle or chases the boys, acording to his new book of diaries, he would be welcomed by any club. a great book in some ways.
