5.0 out of 5 stars Anna Pigeon at her very best - again!, 29 Mar 2002
By A Customer
This time she is park ranger in the Glacier National Park assisting a researcher into the habits & health of grizzly bears. On the second night out, a camper is found with a broken neck & half her face cut away. A young boy disappears. As always, Nevada Barr's plotting is exciting & clever - the suggestion that bears may be responsible or that the ripped tents of tourists could have been by other predators? There is something ghostly about the dangers they face - nothing is quite as it should be. The ending is absolutely brilliant when everything comes together. Nevada Barr writes so well - the vivid pictures of the National Park & its wildlife stay in the mind long afterwards especially the bears. It's a gripping thriller.
