All you need to know is that John D. MacDonald was a fantastic writer. Too many other writers think so for you to even start doubting it. If you like reading at all then you'll like him. If you like reading crime novels then you'll wonder where he's been all your life. His dialogue is brilliant, very clever and often very funny. Plus Trav's take on the scummy values of modern society always hits home. These new editions are great value. Buy one, and the chances are you'll buy more.
