I recommend against buying this book. It claims to use a non-diet approach, but really it is another extreme-low-fat diet in disguise. The science presented is dangerously misleading - for instance, it correctly states that official recommendations call for people to get 15 - 30% of their calories from fat, but omits to say that the World Health Organisation recommends 20% as the *minimum* for women of reproductive age. It then tells women to calculate their individual "fat budget" at 20% of their base metabolic rate - the calories you would use if you did nothing but rest all day - ignoring the additional calorie requirements for everyday activities. Following the instructions in this book will therefore lead women to consume less than the recommended minimum, which may put them at risk of diseases related to nutritional deficiency - including anemia, infertility, eating disorders and depression to name a few.

I couldn't be more impressed with this book. It is a brilliant new way of looking at the way we eat, and if you want to increase your family's health, lose weight or just free yourself from the diet-conscious society we live in, please read this book.

Everything it says makes such perfect sense; my husband and I have tried losing weight/cutting down fat etc many times before, but for the first time we are happy with the way we are eating. I never thought we'd ever find a diet that would genuinely become a way of life - they were only ever for weight loss before - but this book has changed the way I see food. I feel as though I was on a diet my whole life, and finally I can come off it and eat what I want, when I want!

IT WORKS! It's so readable and makes so much sense. In the last 10 months I've lost 48 lbs. and am still going! Thank you Dr. Goor!
