5.0 out of 5 stars Indispensable for identifying N American birds anywhere, 22 Jun 2004
By Christopher J. Sharpe (Caracas, Venezuela) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This set of identification papers is indispensable for identifying the trickier groups of North American birds - for example: winter loons (divers); dowitchers; jaegers (skuas); screech-owls and Empidonax flycatchers. I carry it on every trip I make to the USA and use it frequently. It should also be very helpful for identifying vagrants to the UK and Europe. This is an equivalent of Sharrocks "Frontiers of Bird Identification". Highly recommended for the avid birder who wants to identify birds inadequately covered by most field guides.
