4.0 out of 5 stars Solid aid, 8 Jul 2004

(TOP 1000 REVIEWER)
This book contains ideas on how to induce hypnosis in patients. It goes over lots of scripts and what is in them that helps the process of inducing hypnosis. It also talks about how to bring your patients out of the hypnotic state.

It is not an introduction to hypnotherapy as such, and limits the discussion to the narrow topic of hypnotic inductions. A book for pros who have other resources to draw on.

This book is a great book for anyone learning hynotherapy. It shows you how the scripts are put together and the meanings of certain words and phrases designed to help you client. I used this book whilst studying for my Hynotherapy exam and it helped greatly. The inductions are also very useful for clients.

5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely Brilliant!, 10 May 2000
This book is a must for ALL hypnotherapists, psychologists and psychiatrists, whether training or fully qualified. Not only do the authors deal with inductions but the important preliminaries, prior to any actual treatment, are also dealt with, which are very informative. There is also a good deal of text relating to psychology. Much other information about hypnotherapy is explained also. The inductions are excellent and spark off the imagination for creating many more inductions. There are even inductions and guidelines for treating children. There is so much information and advice packed into this book that is so helpful. The authors speak from actual experience in dealing with their patients and are very professional. All I can really add is that ALL practitioners should own a copy of this book and keep it with them at all times. It's full of ideas and inspiration. So, what are you waiting for? Go get it!
