2.0 out of 5 stars Interesting read but didn't work for us!, 14 Feb 2004
By A Customer
This book is a fascinating read to learn about e.g., the characteristics of male and female sperm and how you COULD PERHAPS try and influence the gender of your baby in many ways.

We were hoping for a boy (which is claimed to be much easier to target than a girl if you follow instructions) and followed the advice set out in this book very carefully with temperature readings (BEFORE getting out of bed in the morning!), etc. but still ended up with a very lovely and active baby girl (perhaps she came from a very fast female sperm who just made it there before the boys) whom we absolutely adore!

We are not holding out much hope for these methods for our next child, but perhaps I will consult the book again - why not? it may work second time around! But don't hang all your hopes on it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Thank Goodness For Dr. Shettles!, 3 Sep 1998
By A Customer
After 3 boys and wanting 4 children...we thought it would do no harm to try for a girl. Dr. Shettles book is most informative, explains in laymans terms and makes a whole lot of sense. So we tried....and Voila!! We welcomed our darling daughter into the world in July 1997! We had been told we had an 8% chance of a daughter after 3 sons....but the method makes so much sense I was sure I was carrying a girl. Good Luck and this is a MUST BUY book for those who really want to try for a certain sex....as long as you will be happy to have a healthy child above all.

5.0 out of 5 stars this book is a big achievement in medical science, brilliant., 29 Aug 2000
By A Customer
i brought this book and read it out of sheer curiosity, i was thirty three years old and my husband and i thought we would like to start a family. All of my husbands family have sons, there are no daughters, that was not a problem for us although a girl would be nice.We followed the instructions of the book and it all seemed to make perfect sense, but we had to bear in mind that sometimes men only carry one sex of sperm which is normally hereditry, but not in this case we have our darling KIERA who is now one year old, thanks to Dr Shettles all his researce.
