Product Description

Amazon.co.uk Review

Rosie knows that if she walks backwards around a fairy ring she can become invisible and after some persuasion she lets her closest friends in on the secret. Following a series of expensive art thefts from nearby houses, locals begin to suspect Rosie's family--travellers who will move on at the end of summer--and she decides join forces with her invisible friends to do a spot of undercover investigation of her own.

With his customary clarity, Swindells sweeps the reader along with a tight, suspenseful and rather magical adventure filled with humour and high drama, touching carefully on the sensitive subjects of bigotry and bullying without being too heavy handed or detracting from the main story.

Reminiscent of Enid Blyton and her Famous Five adventures, but with a thoroughly modern twist which is definitely more Big Mac than cream tea, Invisible! is a pacy, old-school adventure from one of the most popular contemporary children's authors. (Ages 8 to 11) --Susan Harrison

4.0 out of 5 stars Invisible Anna-Louise, 21 Jun 2003

This review is from: Invisible! (Paperback)
It is a good book for 9 - 14 year olds. It is an exciting adventure about a new girl, at the school, that knows the secret of invisibility. The new girl and her friends use their mysterious power to track down the town thief.
The author was clever in making one person seem like the thief but Rosie solved it and became the hero. It made me wish I could become invisible. I enjoyed the book because the children got the better of the adults!

4.0 out of 5 stars I love it, 19 Mar 2001
By A Customer
I think everyone would love it, it,s brilliant. carrie, con , Peter, charlotte and rosie find out so many things! they're so succsessful they even find out who is the culprit of stealing the bronze statue of Posedion. The police don't belive them at first, but they soon agree. All this was due to Rosie, A traveling girl. She tells them how to be invisible and that is how it all started........
