5.0 out of 5 stars The best, 26 Oct 2001
By A Customer
this book is the best in the series and, having read all the series but book five, I think i can say that. Being only 11 years old, i think that this proves that this book works for all ages, some books which are meant for all ages don't, like kidnapped. i only hope that Diane keeps writing books like this and that they end in something different than a battle with the Lone Power.

3.0 out of 5 stars Slow, but good by the end, 5 Sep 2001
By Mr. D. Foreman (Tunbridge Wells, Kent United Kingdom) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This book was purchased having completed the Potter series (to book 4).

It was slow to begin with but very good by the end, prompting me to buy the others.

My advice would be to give it a go, make sure you read to the end and then buy the others!

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant start to a series, 2 July 2001
By A Customer
The wizards series is one of those that gets shelved with both the young adult and the adult books but all the books can be enjoyed by readers of all ages. The story of evil and redemption is timeless, and the initiation quest of the young wizards draws you right in to the epic struggles through the kind of everyday things we all experience. The two wizards, just after having found their wizard's manuals, decide to use magic to find a missing pen and to stop being bullied. Magic always works... but not always in the way you might expect...

A really great book in a great little universe.
