2.0 out of 5 stars A great disappointment, 15 Oct 2001
By A Customer
After having read all of Judith Ivory's books, I viewed myself as her biggest fan ever. BEAST was a masterpiece, in spite of its weak ending. All that went before made it worthwhile. SLEEPING BEAUTY was fabulous, and THE PROPOSITION was an unforgettable romp. I can heartily recommend the above three books -- yet sadly, not this one. The hero and heroine spent half of the book wandering lost in Dartmoor, searching desperately for a plot which never arrived. Since there was no real story line, the big question of whether or not the characters were going to have sex was answered, and there really seemed little point in continuing the read. In spite of its lavish cover, I actually tossed this book out a short time later. It was simply too painful to continue. Ms. Ivory, I shant hold this against you forever. Every genius is entitled to the odd failing. I look forward to your next fairy tale.
