4.0 out of 5 stars Very enjoyable, but not an easy read, 5 Jan 2001

Ms Flannery takes you into a most exiting time namely the Elizabethan era. I feel that although the emotional play between the two lovers Nicholas Layton and Maggie Whitaker is 1st class as well as the feelings between a most modern thinking mother figure she encounters in the 16th century, the supernatural element is somewhat confusing. Also I would prefer to believe that Shakespeare wrote the plays not the other historical figure she proposes. Not quite as good as "ANYWHERE YOU ARE".
