4.0 out of 5 stars Enjoyable fantasy, 6 May 2003
I found this book enjoyable. Engaging light escapism in traditional fantasy style, well plotted, easy to read, with sprinklings of humour.
The characters are likeable and well enough developed, though I wouldn't say it's a book of great psychological depth or anything that occupies the mind or moves the soul.

2.0 out of 5 stars Pretty standard fantasy, 11 Jun 2002
By A Customer
There is not much to say about this book apart from the fact that it is a pretty bland fantasy, set in a late medieval society. There are witches, swordsmen, kings, traitors etc., but none of the characters are really engaging and the plot never really gets going. On the other hand the book lacks any clearly annoying features and it is fairly short. Two stars for average performance.
