A weary Maggie Kincaide realizes her only hope is to earn the opportunity to design the Draycott Abbey Jewels collection. Maggie, a talented jewelry designer, watched her life collapse when her father vanished without a trace in Sumatra when his plane crashed. Apparently lost along with Daniel is a fortune in jewels that he allegedly stole. Unbeknownst to Maggie is that Nicholas Draycott wants her in his manor to see if she has any information that would lead him to the missing jewels. Nicholas demands his friend Jared MacNeill keep Maggie safe while they learn what she knows.

A reluctant Jared wants to reject the assignment because he cannot abide any company ever since he spent the year inside the box in Thailand. However, to his shock, he finds himself attracted to the daughter of a suspected thief. Jared has doubts about the plane crash and realizes someone is stalking Maggie. He knows he will risk his life to keep the woman he now loves safe. Not realizing that she loves him too, he doubts anyone could ever cherish a misanthrope like him.

The latest Draycott Abbey tale is THE PERFECT GIFT for readers who appreciate a poignant romantic suspense that contains supernatural elements. The fast-paced story line is very entertaining and filled with intrigue. However, what makes this novel and the entire series so good is Christina Skye's ability to make readers feel for her characters. Fans of the series will enjoy the antics of returning players including Adrian. New and old readers will root for the emotionally crippled couple to make it together. Visits to Draycott Abbey remain one of the top highlights of reading every year.
