5.0 out of 5 stars A Fitting Finish To The Anno Dracula Series, 18 Oct 1999
I am a great fan of Kim Newmn's Anno Dracula novels. Each one is different in tone and introduces new characters, and yet each is completely connected to the other with some returning characters who actually grow and change as a result of what they face. "Judgement Of Tears" is no exception to this and as well as Dracula himself, who makes an all too brief appearance (perhaps my only critiscism of all the novels) we see a return for Charles Beauregard, Genevieve Duedonne and Kate Reed. New characters include a familiar Aston Martin driving Vampire British agent who is very well handled and a creature more ancient than the oldest of the Vampire elders. There are sly references to other characters from the late fifties/early sixties which I won't spoil, they are all handled well and you instantly know who they are. The plot itself concerns a series of murders and you won't guess who the murderer is so cleverly is it done. A very good read which I thoroughly reccomend.
