Product Description

Review
"I love you, Ronnie...will move, charm, and cheer...revealing Reagan the man."
--The Washington Post

Synopsis
No matter what else was going on in his life, or where he was - travelling to make movies or for G E in the California governor's office, at the White House, on Air Force One, or sometimes even across the room - Ronald Reagan wrote letters to Nancy Reagan, to express his love, thoughts, and feelings and to stay in touch. This rare book offers unique insight into one of American history's most famous couples and into the love story they lived. Through letters and reflections, the private character, personality and life of an American president, and of his first lady, are revealed. Through half a century we see how Ronald Reagan wrote from the heart to the person he was closest to. Nancy Reagan comments on the letters and writes with love and insight about her husband and the many phases of their life together.

5.0 out of 5 stars heartwarming journey of extraordinary love., 9 Sep 2000
By A Customer
I have experienced an unusual warnth and love after reading this book. This loving couple has stirred and shaken my heart, to awaken and want more out of life and of my partners.nancy and ronald have an extraordinary..yet ordinary love, friendship, athat reaches out to most human beings.love in their eyes transtends life itself, and makes it worth living, simply because you have a special person in your life, which makes it magical.Their letters are a lesson on how to keep that light burning bright, through simple and loving words interwoven with humour and utter fidelity Romance is truely not dead, not according to nancy and Ronald reagan..

5.0 out of 5 stars Intensely moving, 7 April 2002
By A Customer
I bought this book while on holiday in Florida. To be truthful I bought it to bring home and show it to friends as a joke. I thought it would prove to be mawkish, slushy and overly sentimental. When I got back to the hotel I started to glance through it. What I found amazed me. The letters Ronald Reagan wrote to Nancy are unashamedly romantic, and show a man totally unafraid to bare his heart and soul to the woman he adored. There is not a single mawkish line. The letters are touching, moving, and immensely inspiring.

I feel privileged to have read this book.
