I really enjoy listening to Stephen King novels so with that in mind I bought the Random House Audio version of BLACK HOUSE. When I first started listening to this book I found the voice of Frank Muller (the narrator) a little annoying as he read it with a lilt to his voice which I would use for poetry rather than a novel, but after a short while you tend to listen past that and enjoy the story. Having read about the true murderer Albert Fish, there were many referances to his murder and cannabalism of a little girl but there the story leaves real life and goes deep into the imagination of Mesrs King and Straub. To have Jack Sawyer back from the Talisman was great. Although I read that book an age ago, little bits came back to me and he was too good a hero only to use once. All in all a very good story, I thought that the house itself seemed very Blair Witch and with my imagination this added to the scare factor. As ever the people in the story were very real, the local bikers are for once heros and their relationship with the towns police a joy. I would recommened Black house on audio to anyone...sit back ..listen and let you imagination go wild.
