1.0 out of 5 stars Not a good preparation book, 19 Jul 2005
By A Customer
I sat the GMAT and scored an overall score of 730 (97th percentile) and an AWA of 6.0/6.0. I used the Official Guide, Kaplan Series and the Princeton Review books in my preparation. The Official Guide is extremely good in leading up to the exam to get practice on their questions. Though since its questions are ranked from least to hardest, it means you really should do all of them to ascertain exactly where you are at. The Kaplan Series books are definitely the best books for preparing (the Official Guide should really be used in the final 2 weeks of preparation). Do the Kaplan GMAT 2005 book and then depending on whether English or Maths is your weaker subject, buy the relevant Kaplan GMAT "Maths Workout" or "Verbal Workout" book. They are extremely good at honing your skills. If you are aiming for a GMAT scorer of over 700, then it is essential to buy the Kaplan GMAT 800 book as it throws the most difficult questions at you. As for the Princeton Book, the questions are just not realistic and inadequate preparation for the GMAT, as the test is significantly harder.

5.0 out of 5 stars Just the best!!!, 30 Jan 2005
By A Customer
I have bought all the GMAT books available. This is the best one, believe me. It is well structured, has incredible tips to be fast, and a lot of step by step exercises. Just buy this book and the official guide to have a lot of practice exercises (or buy the exam papers at mba.com).

3.0 out of 5 stars Studying for the GMAT, 20 Oct 2008
By N. Suleman (London) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
I bought this book to brush up on my skills for the GMAT. It helped to refresh some of my maths and verbal skills. However, i feel that the official study guide would have been better as it felt that the book did not prepare me adequately for the test. I did score well though.

I used this book along with the Official Guide to GMAT and Kaplan. I feel that the Kaplan questions are out of scope of the real GMAT test. Read more
