Budding journalist and youngest member of the Santori family, Lottie is dying to escape her overprotective family and learn a little bit about life, love and sex! A job in middle of nowhere, Trouble, Pennsylvania, researching the seemingly haunted Seaton House complete with terribly dark secrets, seems like the perfect place.

Reluctant (yet mysteriously sexy) owner of the house, Simon Lebeaux, is recuperating from a terrible accident when Lottie invades his life. Despite their amazing chemistry, Simon's personal demons means he won't get involved with anyone. But Lottie can't help but get involved when a series of bizarre accidents and incidents start happening at the house and Simon realises that he's now got a lot more to lose than he did before.


Leslie Kelly is on to another winner with this dark, gothic-inspired tale of love and murder! Having said that, I didn't find it too scary and I will willingly admit that I am a wimp when it comes to creepy stories in general.

I adored Lottie as a heroine - so fresh, interesting and real. Simon was also a favourite as I do enjoy a dark, brooding hero and he was certainly that. The chemistry between the two was deliciously hot and a scorched the pages on many occasion.

The unusual thing about the book was the way it was written. A chapter was written in the third person, where we found out about Simon's thoughts and feelings. Each alternate chapter was then written in the first person, from Lottie's point of view, where we got to see what she was thinking/feeling. By the end of the book I hardly noticed it but I'll admit that it took me a while to get into the book as between chapters it jarred a bit as you slipped between the two perspectives.

Overall, this was a fun, well-written story that really drew you in and made you believe in the characters. Sexy, funny and just a little bit naughty - this is definitely a book I would recommend if you like your romance with a little bit of sizzle. 4 stars.
