There are some great moments in this book, and in places the author has a beautiful turn of phrase, but unfortunately an overly elaborate and contrived plot, and too much mental wittering on by the characters, detracts from the enjoyment of the book. Pared down a bit, and with about twice as much sex, this would be a fantastic romantic/erotic novel.

It's still well worthy of a read though...
